Jewel

As the name suggests, this venue is a jewel in the heart of the London's West End and definitely one to visit if you are in the Piccadilly area. I stumbled across it by accident one night after finding that my intended destination was shut.

With its purples and lilacs you could easily think you were in an Aladdin's cave. The whole venue is lit with all shapes and sizes of candles that are carefully situated to give the right ambience. The central dome is filled with thousands of jewels that are reflected by up lights. I found that the venue allows you to be either in the centre of what’s going on or, if you want to hide away, there are lots of nooks and crannies to chill out in. Most evenings have a live singing act, which range from R&B to an acoustic easy listening set. The staff are very friendly and the drink prices not over the top!

The clientele I have to say with joy were ecleceltic. It was really nice to find a place where you can dress up or down and not feel out of place. The other main plus is that Piccadilly tube is about five seconds away! Make sure you know when the last tube is though!

Opening hours: Monday - Thursday 5.00pm - 1.00am, Friday - Saturday 4.00pm - 1.00am and Sundays 6.00pm - 10.30pm
